Thanksgiving Praise Chapel

Thanksgiving Praise Chapel

Each year, before students leave for Thanksgiving Break, we gather together as a school family and celebrate this season with a beautiful chapel that is full of thanksgiving and praise, hence the name Thanksgiving Praise Chapel. This year, we added a fun twist to the day by giving our students the opportunity to invite a friend from another school to visit for the day. Learn more about our Friends Day here

Our Thanksgiving Praise Chapel holds a theme each year that translates with the banners that each classroom makes and marches into our chapel. Last year we celebrated by honoring the Fruits of the Spirit, and this year we celebrated with Songs of Thanksgiving. View our photo gallery below to see this years banners.

The band played as our students marched in banners and our secondary student worship team led students, teachers, visiting friends, and families in a great time of worship. Mrs. Bohannon and Mrs. Cunnington’s 2nd graders entertained us with a hand clapping praise song, and Mrs. Fry and Miss Ankney’s 3rd graders performed a choreographed version of Our Father.

Our guitar class performed, our drama team delivered a modern Thanksgiving skit, and Mr. Herring led the all school offering of canned goods and coats to go to the Yakima Union Gospel Mission.

This chapel was not only student performance however. RCS teachers and staff blessed us with this beautiful song:

Finally, our 2015 Thanksgiving Praise Chapel was wrapped up with a slideshow highlighting the last year of learning and fun.

Riverside Christian School is thankful for each and every student, family, teacher, and staff member that is invested in a school that is Rooted in Christ and Ready for Tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving!
