Meet New Director of Marketing and Enrollment: Lauren Brotherton

Lauren-159Lauren Brotherton recently joined the Riverside Christian School team as the Director of Marketing and Enrollment. We are so excited that Lauren will be working directly with prospective families to enroll at RCS. As a way to welcome Lauren into our community and get to know her a little better, we recently conducted the following interview.

What are your main responsibilities at Riverside Christian School?

My title at RCS is Director of Marketing and Enrollment. Essentially, my main job responsibility is to be the cheerleader for the school. Whether that is sharing all the good things our school has to offer during campus tours and walking families through the enrollment process, helping to create events to keep current families engaged and invite new families to our campus, or simply engaging the public on social media and improving our website.

What attracted you to work for Riverside Christian School?

I wanted to work for RCS because I whole heartedly believe in its value. Having the opportunity myself to receive a Christian education, I experienced firsthand the benefit of a Christ-centered education. Knowing how much my Christian education helped shape me into the person I am today, I wanted the opportunity to now use the professional skills I’ve gained through my degree and job experience to help promote the value of Christian education at RCS.

Tell us about your family.

My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been together for 9 years now.  We moved to Yakima a little over a year ago and we are about to celebrate our third anniversary.

What have been your experiences in Christian education?

I attended Three Rivers Christian School in Longview, WA  from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I also coached a cheerleading squad for a Christian School while I was in college.

Why do you think a Christian education is important for families to consider?

I think Christian education is important for families to consider because it provides biblical-based education that prepares student academically. The students build a foundation in Christ and are surrounded by supportive teachers and staff who are able to show Christ’s love to students. They also get to learn in a Christ-centered environment that allows students to grow and develop spiritually.

What do you love most about Riverside Christian School so far?

What I love most about Riverside so far is that it truly is a loving family. In my short time here, I have been amazed at how welcoming everyone is and the support I have received.

How do you think you will make a difference in the lives of students in your role at Riverside Christian School?

I hope to share Christ’s love with every student I interact with. I pray that God will use me to be speak into their lives to help grow them in their walk with God.

What do you want families to gain by interacting with you in admissions?

I hope that I would be able to shine a light on the benefits of Christian education and hope that families are able to see what it would be like to be a part of our school family and a true understanding of what RCS has to offer.
