Family Fall Fest Recap & Photos!

dsc_0030What a better way to usher in the new school year than a barbecue with our amazing RCS community! On Tuesday September 13th, over 130 families gathered together to say goodbye to summer and hello to the 2016-17 school year.

The night started off with a family barbecue and a time of worship. During the barbecue we encouraged our teachers to sit with families allowing parents to talk one-on-one with them. Seth Baxter and Victoria Cole, who are high school students, lead us in a time of worship. Our campus was filled with even more excitement that night as we hosted a soccer and volleyball game and both of our teams came out victorious. It was a great night all around at RCS!

Since this was our 2nd annual Family Fall Fest, we decided to change the session offerings up a little bit to be able to provide dsc_0061the best information for parents. Preschool-6th grade teachers lead sessions in their rooms to share important information for their classes and field any questions. For the parents of secondary students, they had the opportunity to listen to several sessions presented by secondary staff: Excelling in Junior High, Excelling in High School, Knowledge Bowl, Robotics Information, Worship Team, AP/Dual Credit/College Prep, Secondary Athletics Participation, Haiti Mission Trip, and the East Coast Trip.

While the parents were in sessions, the kids enjoyed the great weather and played outside with Mrs. Bell, ASB, and some of our amazing Teacher Aids.

dsc_0333On behalf of administration, we would like to thank everyone who participated in making this event so much fun! We are already looking forward to next year and we are always looking for feedback to make this event even more successful so feel free to email comments to brothertonl@riversidechristian.net.

Take a look at some of the pictures from that night!
