2016-17 School Theme: God’s Love

2016-17 School Theme: God’s Love

Hi, I’m Kaleb Bradford and I am the Treasurer on the High School ASB. This summer the ASB was tasked with creating the theme for the upcoming school year. When we first met up to discuss, we had trouble finding a theme that would fit. In the past the themes have had catchy names and cool designs, but when we met the idea that kept reappearing was love. Love is something that we all want to show, but the ultimate love is the love that God has for us all the time. What God’s Love means to us is summed up in 1 John 4:19, “We love because He first loved us.” God gives us his love unconditionally, and because of that we share it with the world.

In the past years, the ASB has provided a passage of scripture that really gets the full meaning of the theme. The downside of having one passage and many pastors is that the messages can blend together and the pastors repeating one another. This year we decided that we would give a verse and specific aspect of God’s love for each month of the year. Some of the aspects of God’s love we will be focusing on this year is the nature, the extent, the demonstration and the greatness of God’s love. God’s Love is important and powerful and we didn’t want it to become stale and worn by the end of the year.

We the ASB are excited for this coming school year and are looking forward to seeing God’s Love expressed throughout our school!map-background-logo-with-verse-1
