Boat Prom…every 4 years!

Boat Prom…every 4 years!

A tradition that began in 1999, a private dinner cruise while cruising the Seattle waterfront or Lake Washington. It happens only once every 4 years. At 11:30am Saturday morning, a caravan pulling a trailer loaded with prom dresses and tuxedos, an ice chest preserving delicate corsages and boutonnières, while following two buses with high schoolers and chaperones begins the trek to Kirkland.

From pink bedazzles to blue lace, dresses were glistening and bow ties and vests were proud. RCS ladies and gents met at the Lake Washington gazebo. The cool breeze (perhaps freezing cold wind) was a delight as we stepped onto the dock to set sail on the Argosy. The dinner tables were decorated with glass beads and black table cloths. The atmosphere was exciting.

We were awed by the panoramic views while many prom pictures included the Space Needle in the background. Once our ‘Delish meal of herb chicken and buttery rolls were finished, Kaleb Bradford and Katy Perez were crowned royalty. As everyone gathered on the main deck, the 2017 Predictions began. Laughter and cheer supported the very well done production directed by Victoria Cole. Senior Wills were short and sweet and hugs and cheers were shared. A night to be remembered. A shout out to Melody Stein for her amazing planning and attention to detail.

Blessings to this year’s seniors!
